Hi there, my name for now will be Shearwater. it is one of my favourite birds. May reveal my real name in the not too distant future.
My hubby and I absolutely love the Hebrides, especially North Uist. We too would love to live there one day and are seriously considering it.
We are retired but a young active retired. I love
wildlife, painting, birdwatching, walking, Scottish music (Runrig especially) My husband is a keen allround naturalist and is a talented wildlife and landscape photographer who give numerous illustrated talks and lectures in wildlife etc.
We visit Uist at least once a year. We were saddened (but happy for her) to hear that Rhona has retired from the cafe at Lochmaddy. What will we do without her and her hubby's traybakes.
What wonderful inventions they were. Will miss her sister too. (at least I think they were sisters.
Cannot wait until summer when we descend or land on these wonderful islands again. maybe this time we will find our island home. and I hope if we do move there we will contribute to the local life and community. We absolutely love the islanders, so friendly. I am still waving at surprised pedestrians when we dock in Oban (if we take that route) we get some strange looks.
