Poultry Housing
Murdo MacAulay has started building poultry housing to the customer's own specification or to his own design. The roofs are an apex design, in any size or exterior finish desired. The basic design is framed and then clad so that it will withstand gale force winds. He began building poultry housing when friends of his had bought some hen houses over the internet which were not strong enough to stand up to moderate weather, never mind the Hebridean weather. The quality certainly doesn't justify the price in many cases. If you wish to enquire about prices and Murdo's details, please get into touch via the Contact form and I'll forward on your details to Murdo.
Equestrian Supplies
As mentioned on another page, Boots and Saddles is the local equestrian supply shop in Lewis. Cara Fraser, the owner, set up shop just this past summer. Boots and Saddles is located on Ferry Road in Stornoway, just behind Somerfields. Cara is always expanding her range of stock - and now has started supplying feeds. The shop can be contacted on 01851-706657. Update: Sadly, Cara has now moved her remaining stock to Lewis Crofter's and has shut her shop. If you need specialist equipment, Country Supplies can help you. They not only supply equestrian, but also fishing and other country pursuits.
