Hebridean Business of the Month

Each month a Hebridean business will be specially featured on this page.

To get featured on this page, you, the Customer will fill in one form to nominate a particular business or service you think merits this accolade. Be sure to not just name the business, but give a good reason why you think they are so great!

Then, once some nominations are in, I'll put a poll on this page for everyone to vote. Once all the votes are cast, then the 'winning' business will be interviewed and featured.

Are you a local business wanting to be featured? Well... all it needs is a friendly smile and efficient service and your customers will, I'm sure, be nominating you! And I have no doubt of the positive knock-on effect this will bring your business if you get featured!

This past year, there has been an initiative in the Western Isles called "Who Cares Wins" to encourage better customer service. With the influx of tourists over the past few year, this means that businesses need to get with the times and improve their service. While the folks are friendly in the shops and restaurants here, their efficiency can be lacking or the service is at a snail's pace, which leads to much frustration and the knock-on effect for tourists means they won't return. In recognition of this, the Western Isles Enterprise in conjunction with Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar (Western Isles Council)have developed this program. As a result, customer service in many sectors has improved greatly.
