Hi, my husband's dad was also in the army and they spend a long time in Balivanich as a family. My husband feels exactly the same way about the place as you do (his name is Tom Rossi). Five years ago we bought a house in Balivanich and used to go there on holiday. I'm sure my husband would like to exchange some memories with you about the islands.
