This is the Highland 2007 Year of Culture - in the Outer Hebrides!January 12th saw the commencement on the old Scottish New Year of a year-long celebration in the Highland and Islands known as the Highland 2007 Year of Culture. There will be various events throughout this next year encompassing a wide variety of subjects - from history and science to the arts. Be sure to come back regularly to this page for updates on events throughout the Outer Hebrides. This week in Stornoway has seen the launch of the St. Kilda project. "Ahead of the eagerly anticipated St Kilda – A European Opera, Proiseact nan Ealan will be celebrating the lives and legacy of the people of St Kilda in a week long event which will culminate with the Opera itself in Studio Alba, Stornoway."
