Lewis and Harris Connect network provides opportunities to network, exchange ideas, gain confidence, and develop personally and professionally. There are related 'sister' Connect networks in Shetland and Orkney. There was a Connect network for the Uists and Barra, but they have now ceased. If you are a member of one of our sister organisations or are a woman from the Uists and Barra, please feel free to join us in the forum below!

The network is for all women to...

* Provide a forum to network, exchange ideas, gain confidence and develop personally and/or professionally

* Increase their ability to become active and involved in commerce, business, voluntary, community and public life

* Provide a stimulating and informative programme of events that give real practical benefit

* Combat social and geographical isolation by providing a support network throughout Lewis and Harris.

Connect says Goodbye to Christine Wood

On February 11th, the Connect Committee said goodbye and thank you to our founder - Christine Wood at the Boatshed Restaurant.

Christine began setting up the Lewis and Harris Connect back in 2003 and by January 2004, she had set up the inaugural meeting with Muriel Gray as guest speaker. She worked tirelessly to get the network up and running. Many of us came along to Connect because of Christine's efforts - she spoke to anybody and everybody she met. From speaking to other Connect members, both past and present - they all echoed the same sentiment - a great deal of respect and liking for Christine.

Go well, friend, in your new adventure on the Mainland. We all will miss you here, but I'm sure it will be no time at all before you make lots more new friends.

Stayed Connected!
